Obituary of Lois Elizabeth McCarthy
McCarthy, Lois Elizabeth (nee May), August 3, 1934 – December 13, 2022 – survived by her children Mark (Kim), Patricia Potter (Doug) and Darren (Donna). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Emily, Krystle, Jeremy (Jenny), Brad (Samura), Melissa (Joe), Shawn (Holly) and Cody. Lois will be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren Kallee, Ryan, Remi, Max, Wade, Madisyn, Colton, Jaxson and Kinsley, as well as her extended family and friends.
When our time
on this earth is done,
money or material things
will not matter.
But the love, time
and kindness we’ve
given others will shine
and live on forever.
I heard your voice in the wind today
and I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
as I stook silently in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today
as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace and my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the window pane
as I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell
it quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today
it made me feel complete;
You may have died … but you are not gone
you will always be a part of me
As long as the sun shines…
The wind blows…
The rain falls…
You will live on inside of me forever
For that is all my heart knows.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to the James Reid Funeral Home. Lois will be buried with her beloved husband Jack (February 15, 1932 – December 7, 1986) at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines in the Spring, at which time a Celebration of Life will be held.
