I was doubly fortunate to work with Ellen at Mulberry as well as be a parent in her preschool class when my (now 25 y/o) energetic young son was in her kind, warm and insightful care. Mulberry was new to our neighbourhood then and allowed for 2.5 year olds that year; we were lucky indeed and I knew it - Ellen's 4 "challenging" sons paved the way for mine!
One of my best memories which just occurred last week was Ellen bounding! up the stairs to the school office which she did on the regular and she was older then than I am now. Hats off - I just loved her indefatigable energy!
When my son suddenly began to stutter she assured my very worried mother self in her lovely quiet way that it would surely leave just as quickly as it arrived and to not fret - I was calmed and, of course, Ellen was right. I admired her for everything she was and so generously shared.
Hers was a life so well-lived and Ellen was a shining example of steadfastness, quiet unmatched inner and outer strength, and integrity. Her light touch changed lives.
We send our love to Ellen's family who was entirely and unquestionably loved by her.
