Obituary of Mike Ball

Michael Ball
1965-2022

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mike in Battersea on Monday October 17, 2022. Mike will be forever missed by his loving dad Garfield (Sue), sister Lisa (Rob), his brother Jeff, nephew Lucas (Alli), his Aunt Nadine and his extended family. Mike was predeceased by his mom Carol.

Mike grew up in Sunbury where he worked on the family farm. He later moved to Battersea where he lived in his home on Loughborough Lake. Mike wanted to be close to everything and everyone where he enjoyed the water. He especially enjoyed his boat and the love for ‘FISHING’. Mike had many wonderful friends throughout his years. Although he had very little sight, he would still ride dirt bikes, drive his boat, and occasionally drove a car around the farm. Mike went on a trip of a life time with a group of his friends. They back packed for a month through Australia. Mike received volunteer of the year in 2003 for the ice rink he made in front of his home on Battersea Creek. Mike took pride in his rink by keeping it cleared off and flooded for all the kids young and old who wanted to skate or have a game of hockey or just practice their skating skills.

Wonderful memories Mike will leave with his family and many friends. The family would like to thank everyone who played a part in Mikes life.

The family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., on Saturday, November 5 from 9:30-11:20 am with the funeral service following at 11:30 am. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the CNIB Lake Joes Camp for the blind, or Mental Health in Mike’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.

We hope you are at peace Mike
