Obituary of Don Foster

Foster, Donald Blakely It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don on October 19, 2022 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Carole. Loving father of Donna Matthews (Rick) and Paul Foster. Devoted grandfather to Ryan Matthews (Dr. Laura Sovran) and Ashlee O’Connor (John) and great grandfather to Caitlin, Cassie, Luca, Nico and Leo. Don worked for 30 plus years for Imperial Oil culminating as Retail Manager for Canada. Upon retirement, Don returned to Kingston in 1989 at which time he reenergized himself with the Oddfellow’s Lodge by personally delivering countless pieces of free medical equipment for those in need, and was awarded the Senior Citizen of the Year by the Province of Ontario for his efforts over many years. Family and friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, ON on Wednesday, October 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, October 27 at 11 am. Interment Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
