OBITUARY OF NEIL HERBERT (Herbie)
August 25th, 1972 - October 9th, 2022
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Neil Herbert, peacefully on Sunday, October 9th at Kingston General Hospital with his love by his side. A beloved husband to Rachael and father to Isabella and Sophie.
Born and raised in The Cotswolds, England, and emigrated to Canada in 2008; he will be remembered fondly by the lives he touched, both near and far.
For those who knew him, he was a kind-hearted and generous man. Neil lived life to the fullest and always did things his own way, gaining the respect and admiration of everyone in his life. He was known for his talents as a painter and was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. From enjoying time with his girls to waking up at the crack of dawn to catch Formula One or English soccer, Neil also enjoyed the simple things in life.
Neil's wife would like to express her sincere gratitude to the paramedics who assisted him, and the nurses, doctors, and other staff at Kingston Health Sciences Centre who had made him as comfortable as possible through his cancer diagnosis and treatments. Neil showed amazing courage and strength until his body could no longer keep up the fight. His family will always take inspiration from his battle with cancer and will always know him as the pinnacle of resiliency.
Cremation has been entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home, and a celebration of life will be held at the family home on Saturday, November 19th from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM.
