Obituary of Rita Kennedy

Kennedy, Rita Marie (nee Picard) - Passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Rita was predeceased by her husband of over 40 years; Gerry Kennedy in 2005. She is survived by her cherished daughters Debbie Kane (Bruce) and Lynn Marquette (Garry Smith) and her grandchildren Danielle, Drew, Ryan, Owen and Jocelyn.

Rita's big heart, sparkling personality, and radiant smile will be dearly missed by all of her extended family and her many friends.

There will be a visitation at James Reid Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Liturgy of the Word will take place Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:30 am also at James Reid Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend. Inurnment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.

Rita was a dedicated volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. Those wishing to make donations can do so to Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association in Rita’s honour.
