Obituary of Marc Raymond

RAYMOND, Marc Francis

1943 – 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marc, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, in Kingston on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Marc will be forever missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Marny, his children, Courtney Raymond (Tammy), Jason Raymond (Sarah) and Mary Bryn Raymond (Jevon Austin) and treasured grandchildren, Kayla Raymond (Phill Smith), Brayden Raymond, Zach Austin, Gaige Austin, Ayana Raymond, Tyler Raymond and Spencer Raymond. Marc was predeceased by his parents Joffre and Alice Raymond, and in-laws Don and Faye Millar. He was the dear brother of the late Reina Reddy (Larry), Richard Raymond (Debbie) and their children Julie and Christine, Patricia Raymond (the late Stan Pon) and Kevin Raymond (Dianne) and brother-in-law to Susie Patrick (Dr. Larry), the late Geoff Millar, Douglas Millar (Charlotte), Ann Marie Gallant and their families. 

Marc was a Kingston businessman, heavily involved in the Kingston community and preserving downtown Kingston’s heritage, including being instrumental in the updating of Market Square.  He was involved with the College of Opticians and the Ontario Optician Association.  Marc was the Past President of the Kingston Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Kingston. He was an avid boater and took great pride in teaching safe boating to boaters through the Power Squadron. 

Marc’s family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (490 Days Rd., Kingston), Father John J. Brennan to officiate.
