Obituary of Owen David Wilson Daub

Daub, Owen - left us suddenly, but peacefully, on October 4th, 2022 in his 90th year.

Owen is survived by his wife Beverlee (nee Hicks) of 62 years, children Kristine (David) and Craig, grandchildren Catherine, Andreas, Ella and Finch, and brother Lawrie (Kathy).

Predeceased by parents Clarence and Erna (nee Cook), siblings Marjorie (late Hugh), Ken (Mary), Warren, Beth (late Gord), and granddaughter Erin.

Owen grew up in the Kitchener/Waterloo area and overcame many obstacles to graduate in electrical engineering at Queens. After a successful career at Dupont, he used his great people skills as a director at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Owen had a wide breadth of life experiences and loved tackling challenges. He took pride in the unique solutions he created, including designing and building an iconic wood and stone fireplace at the cottage on Devil Lake where he spent many happy summers with his family.  Many sought his advice as he had a very wide range of life experiences and know-how. He placed high value on people, cherishing his family and a wide circle of friends.

A celebration of his life, followed by a reception, will be held at St. Andrews by-the-Lake United Church on the afternoon of Saturday October 15th at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Climate Action Network.

Owen's family have provided this Zoom link for those who cannot attend the celebration in person.
