Obituary of Thomas Edward Adkins

Major Thomas Edward Adkins (RCAF ret'd) passed away surrounded by family on September 27, 2022. Tom leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 52 years Dianne (McQuarrie), and his daughter Jennifer, the dogs and many friends across the globe.

Tom graduated in the last class of the RCAF in 1969. He worked for the military for 33 years and flew many aircrafts. Tom was a chief instrument check pilot and a flight safety and standards officer. His last 3 flying postings were to 437 Squadron. Friends and family know all too well Tom loved his family, his yellow TR-6 sports car, Old English Sheepdogs and flying. 

Tom’s final wishes were to be cremated and that there be no fuss. His words exactly. In keeping with his desire, Tom was cremated and his family will have a private graveside service at the Cataraqui Cemetery, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Air Force Museum of Canada, located at 220 RCAF Road, 8 Wing/CFB Trenton.
