Obituary of Lynn Campbell
Douglas Lynn Campbell (1949-2022)
We have lost a kind humble soul, with the passing of Lynn. Lynn left us peacefully in the early hours of September 8th, with his loving wife by his side. He was a devoted husband to Reina, loving brother of Gary (Linda), cherished Uncle of Stacy, Niki (Cory), and Cheryl (Simon). He will be forever missed by his mother-in-law Florence Bissett. His wonderful smile, and quirky sense of humour will also be missed by his great-nephews and great-niece, cousins, many friends, and his fishing trip buddies.
Predeceased by his parents Eber and Marguerite, and Aunt Ada.
Lynn was a graduate of Queen’s University, and became a devoted teacher who touched the lives of many students in Renfrew and at St. Lawrence College.
Everyday Lynn was grateful to his donor and donor family for the 11 years of life that were given to him after his lung transplant. He was a dedicated member of TAA, supporting and advocating for others with transplants. Lynn loved music of many genres, his pets (Kelsey and Tosh), cooking, the Chicago Cubs, photography, ordering from Amazon, Mars bars, and any gadget that he could fit into his pockets.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 18th, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd. Kingston ON, K7M 7H3). A funeral service will be held in the James Reid chapel on Monday September 19th at 11am. Following the service, friends and family will be invited to stay for refreshments and food. The Chapel Service will be available to watch via livestreaming. Please register by clicking HERE.
Charitable donations in Lynn’s memory can be made to the Transplant Advocate Association (online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/transplant-advocate-association/) or to a charity of your choice.
