McGregor (Mickey) Hall passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on September 7, 2022.

Mickey was born in Massey, Ontario on May 19, 1944. He spent his childhood and teen years in Massey and joined the Canadian Military in 1962. He was stationed in Petawawa and was a guard on Parliament Hill. After the military he spent his working life in the produce industry.

Mickey is survived by his wife Barbara (Johnson) Carisse and by his younger brother Doug (Linda). He is also survived by his children, Kristina Hall (Mark Butterworth), Mark (Jennifer), Charlene and Thomas, and his step-children Russell Carisse (Iris) and Anna Samulak (Jeff Thompson). He was the proud grandfather of Hannah Butterworth, Noah Hall, Byron and Audrey Carisse, and Nigel and Edward Thompson. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mickey is predeceased by his mother Estelle (McGregor) and father John Hall. He is also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Raymond, Vivian Henry (Pete), Ronnie (Joyce), Lorraine Buckmiller (Phillip), Jacqueline Gagnon (Gerry), Gerry (Yvonne), Shirley Nadon (Art), Joyce Hall, Lucille Young, and Betty Anne Hall.

Mickey was an upbeat and optimistic man and he fought a courageous battle against cancer until the very end. He loved playing cards, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays, cooking big meals for his extended family and spending time with his grandchildren. His happiest days were spent at Mill Lake with his friends and family. Mickey’s cheerful disposition and never ending optimism should be an inspiration to us all.

A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 631, 4034 Bath Road, Kingston, K7M 4Y4, at 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.

Donations can be made to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Emergency Department) in Mickey’s name.
