Obituary of Lynn Paul
Elizabeth (Lynn) Paul, age 95, died August 15, 2022, at the Kingston General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Lynn was born in Brownsburg, Quebec on Hallowe’en 1926 to Alexandrina and James Smith of Kirkauldy, Scotland. She grew up in Montreal and trained as a secretary. She worked for many years at the Dominion Bridge Company.
Lynn moved to Ottawa in 1977 with her late husband V. Clifford Paul where they were both active members of the St. Andrews Society as well as the Britannia Yacht Club. They loved Scottish Country dancing and attended galas in both Ottawa and Montreal where they could don their Scottish garb and dance the night away. Lynn was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She loved to play bridge with both her neighbourhood friends and the Engineers Wives and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years.
Lynn was predeceased by her three brothers. She is survived by her two children, Roslynn (Henry Ryszewski) and Scott (Donna) Martin, as well as her grandchildren Christopher Ryszewski, Jonathan (Chrystal) Ryszewski and Carolynn (Crystal) Ryszewski and her great-granddaughter Inara Ryszewski.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, ON. Friends will be received at 1:30 pm - 2:20 pm with the service in the chapel at 2:30pm. For those who wish, donations may be made to the C.N.I.B in Lynn’s memory.
