Bob passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the age of 84. He is predeceased by his parents Donald and Mary Bruce. Dearly loved by his sisters Eileen Bruce and Donna Brownell (David); cherished uncle of niece Sara Brownell (Scott Field) and nephew Andrew Brownell (Shannon) and their children Elizabeth, Abbigale and Lyla Brownell.
Bob was a proud producer and director at CKWS TV for 45 years producing and directing the annual Easter Seals Telethon. On retiring, besides spending many hours at his cottage on Loughborough Lake, he began volunteering. He volunteered for medical drives for the VON, the Senior’s Centre (Senior Citizen of the Year, 2012), Operation Red Nose (founding member) and many friends and strangers. His warmth and friendliness served him well in these activities.
Bob’s family will welcome visitors to James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 10:00 – 10:50 am. Funeral Service will be led by Rev. Dr. Mike Michielin in the Chapel at 11:00 am. At the request of Bob's family, masks will be required. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery to follow. Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Easter Seals Ontario or a charity of choice.
