Obituary of Brian Malley

Brian Malley, age 83, passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Monday, July 11, 2022 after many health challenges made more difficult by Parkinsons.

Brian had most recently lived at the Kingsbridge Retirement Home. His family would like to express gratitude for the excellent care and companionship he received there, as well as the care he received at Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu and Providence Care over the past few years.  No matter how Brian was feeling, he always said thank you to his care staff. He will be remembered by those who knew him well and met him more casually as a kind and caring man.

Brian leaves behind his wife Joyce, son Jason, daughter-in-law Gwen, granddaughters Breanna and Victoria and great-grandson Oliver.

Brian came to Canada from England at a young age and made Canada his home, never forgetting his English roots.  Brian joined the RCAF and became a skilled pilot. After leaving the Air force, Brian embarked on a career in insurance and later became an entrepreneur in retail, owning a successful pet food franchise, which was later taken over by his son and daughter-in-law.  Brian was active in our local YMCA and in the church at St Andrew’s by the Lake and will be missed by many fellow members there.

A small private family service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, Brian’s memory can best be served by being kind, gentle and compassionate to those you love as well as those you encounter only briefly.
