Obituary of Shirley Patricia White
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Patricia White (nee Chatfield) on July 11th 2022 at the Fairmont Home in Glenburnie Ontario. Predeceased by her sister Jill Wittingham. Shirley is survived by her sister Diane March (Ian), son Stephen Bell (Tina), her grandchildren Christopher Bell and Sarah Bell and her great grandchildren Everly, Arden and Delilah. Shirley leaves behind many friends that she has made over the years in the quilting community as well as the fibre art community.
Those that knew Shirley knew that she was very devoted to her social work and was very passionate about helping those in need. Shirley was a big art enthusiast with special affinities for quilting, needlepoint as well as anything fibre art. In retirement Shirley still with a knack for sharing her talent with others went on to teach classes at both the Seniors Centre and Fairmount Home. She had a large love of animals, feral cats especially which is how she became a cat mom to Tiddler. She loved all things gardening, and made sure to plant traditional English gardens everywhere she lived.
The family would like to extend great thanks to the staff at Fairmount Home for the love and care Shirley received while in their care. A private family celebration will be set to take place at a later date, as per Shirley’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Shirley’s memory to the Kingston Humane Society or a charity of choice.
