Obituary of Rita Dillon

DILLON, Rita (nee McGRATH)

Surrounded by the love of her family, Mom passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on June 12, 2022.  She fought a very private and valiant fight with leukaemia.  Rita Bridget, beloved wife of the late Raymond Dillon, daughter of late Jack McGrath & late Bernice Donohue.  Dear Mom of Patrick (Patti Hoskin), Lorraine (Frank Cameron), Dianne & Maureen (late Allen Farmiloe).  Loving Nana of Claire Taylor (James), Amanda Dillon (Chad Hambly), Megen Dillon (Ian Kahnert), Stephen Samson, Brendan Cameron & Reid Cameron.  Great Nana to Charlie & Lila Taylor. Sister to Leila Dunn (late Edwin), Donald (late Helen), late Laverne (Barbara), late Leonard (Linda), Eleanor Doyle (Patrick), Catherine (late Larry Deane), Austin (Jane), late Ronald (Linda) & late Gerald.  Daughter in-law of late John & late Florence Dillon.  Sister in-law to late Donald, late Hugh (late Anne Rashotte), Helen Harrison (late Jack), late Colleen, Catherine, Patrick (Maggi), Joseph (Monique), Sister Louise, Rita Foley (late Bob) & Eileen Grooms (late Randy).  She will be missed by many nieces & nephews, cousins, some very special friends, colleagues & clients.  Mom was a proud graduate of St. Josephs School of Nursing HDH Kingston 1957.  In accordance with Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 392 Palace Road, Kingston on Saturday June 18, 2022, at 10 am, masks are optional for those attending.  Monsignor Joseph Lynch officiating.  Reception will follow at the Cataraqui Golf & Country Club.  Private family interment will be held at a later date at St Anthony of Padua Cemetery, Centerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to U.H.K.F.- Chemotherapy Suite Comfort Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.  Please also consider giving blood donations through the Canadian Blood Services.  The need is great.  The family wish to express their gratitude to KGH teams on Connell 9, Kidd 9, MHDU & Kingston Regional Cancer Clinic.  In care of James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston.
