Obituary of Mervin Alfred Harris
Harris, Mervin Alfred
Suddenly without any warning on May 26th, 2022, Mervin passed away at the age of 82. Son of the late Luther & Cora Harris, Mervin was born and raised in Battersea, Ontario. It was here he met and married the love of his life Veronica (Vern nee Twofoot) and settled to raise their family for the next 60 wonderful and unforgettable years together.
Mervin leaves behind heartbroken, his three (3) daughters, Corinne Sands (Brian), Kimberly Mundell (Randee) and Heather Sands (Craig Weatherby) and the late (Stephen Sands), along with his grandchildren, Corey, Ashley (Jim), Amanda (TJ), Curtis, Brandon, Chris (Danielle), Megan (Nate), Chris & Jordan. Mervin was also the most wonderful Great Grampa to Maya, Adley, Anna, Harris, Cora & Koda. He also leaves behind his loving furry companion, Molly.
Mervin worked for BASF Automotive Refinishing and had been retired for over 27 years. Mervin spent his retired time enjoying his love for the great outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family and close friends as well as feeding and watching the birds & deer. He was a kind and generous person, always there for others lending a hand whenever needed.
In keeping with Mervin’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life to honor his memory will be held at a later date. In keeping with his love for animals, for those wishing to do so, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Kingston Humane Society.
The family would like to thank our frontline workers; Storrington Fire & Rescue, Kingston Frontenac as well as Leeds and Grenville Paramedics, Frontenac OPP and our 911 operators for their quick response and support during this most difficult time. We really do appreciate all that you do.
