Obituary of Avril Victoria Kruger
Kruger, Avril Victoria, We are heartbroken to announce that Avril passed away May 12th, 2022 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was one week shy of her 85th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald and son Dean. Avril will be remembered with love by daughter Kerry Sammon (Wes Branson) of Kingston, Ontario and grandchildren Victoria and Jamie. She leaves behind her sister Coral Cooper and her husband Roy and brother David Johnston (late Emily), a large extended German family and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the pond. Avril was a lifelong educator (66 years) and was still tutoring until Covid-19 restrictions impacted her work. She was an avid gardener, golfer, world traveler, chorister and enjoyed an active social life. She was involved with many community organizations over the years but her time spent with Masterworks of Oakville, as a chorister and past President, were a highlight. She was an angel on earth and helped many who needed a hand. She will be missed by so many whose lives she touched. Special thanks to the nurses for excellent care at Credit Valley Hospital, OTMH, Dr. Zigris, Dr. Hashmi, and Dr. Robinson and the team at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Kingston. A family graveside service to be held at a later date. Please consider a donation to your charity of choice in Avril’s memory. Arrangements in the care of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Kingston, jamesreidfuneralhome.com
