I had the pleasure of working with Rich and Pat on their remodelling project in their Edmonton home. I didn’t know Rich a long time but in the relatively short time that I did, he expressed a genuine sense of humour.
I had just completed designing and remodelling Rich and Pat’s bathroom. Rich had called me and in a very firm tone he said, “Gabrielle we have a SERIOUS problem here.” I immediately thought of the worst possible scenario - water leak. He proceeded to walk me through the time it took and the investment… I listened but I was still unsure what He was going on about and what the issue was.
Rich said firmly, “What are we going to do about this problem??? Maybe you and your crew need to come here and deal with this!”
I still didn’t know what the problem was and I was starting to sweat. In a very serious tone, Rich then stated, “The problem is I can’t get Pat out of the bathroom. She just stays in there all day! I think she loves it too much.”
Well we both laughed so hard. After hearing a huge sigh of relief from me through the phone, he expressed his thanks and genuine appreciation.
Good ole’ Rich… he definitely had me going. What a card!
Thank you for the memory that brings out the smiles and the laughter.
His presence will be dearly missed and his warm natured spirit will always be fondly remembered.
