Obituary of Maria Jean Cota

COTA, Maria Jean
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria, on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the Providence Care Hospital, in her 74th year.  Maria was predeceased by her parents Mervin and Joyce Cota and by her brother Stephen Cota.  She is survived by her loving brother Michael Cota, Ottawa and her dear nephew Tanner Cota.  Maria was born on July 5, 1946 in England to a war bride and came to Canada at three months of age, and has resided in the Kingston area for her entire life.  She is a retired employee of the City of Kingston in the tax department. One of Maria's passions was being the keeper and genealogist of the family; she was so very proud of her British and Algonquin heritage. Maria's funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, a private family service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, April 22, with Reverend Andrew Chisholm officiating.  For those who wish, donations in Maria's memory may be made to the Humane Society or to your favourite charity.
