Obituary of Ivy Frances Brierley
Ivy Brierley (1936 – 2022)
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, grandmother, and great grandmother on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 in her 86th year. After a short battle with cancer, Ivy, whom we lovingly called Granny, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
She leaves behind her loving daughter Nancy Badgley (Germain), loving son Bob Brierley (Jen), and grandchildren Tatum, Mikayla, Jaqueline and Rebecca, as well as many great grandchildren. She will be missed by siblings the late Millie, Sydney (the late Violet), Nadine (John), Carol (Pat), Isobel (John), sister-in-law Dodie (Tom) and many nieces and nephews including Sherri (Roger) who she had a special relationship with, and many dear friends.
There was a huge crowd waiting for Granny at the gates of heaven. First in line was her husband and best friend of 61 years Jack, then her beloved daughter Heather Spencer, dear sons-in-law David Badgley and Murray Spencer, infant grandson Cole Badgley, and her devoted parents Daisy and Joseph Brown and in-laws Jim and Betty and Al and Shirley.
For the past seven years, Granny lived with Tatum, Justin, and their girls. During this time, Granny was a doting great grandmother to Navy and Isabel and they are missing her terribly.
Although so grateful for the time we had together, we still wish that we had more. Granny, you filled our hearts to the brim with love and support. We know how lucky we are to have had you. We’ll miss you forever.
