Obituary of Betty May Hearn

Hearn; Betty May (nee Woods) of Kingston, ON, formerly of Oshawa and Agincourt ON, passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Betty was a loving mother to William (Donna Couch), and Phillip (Donna Hearn). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Nick (Amanda) and Jenni (Jake). Betty was predeceased by her parents William and Edna Woods (nee Scholtz). In her younger years, Betty was an avid member of Agincourt Baptist Church and the One Parent Families organization in Scarborough. After retiring from the Durham District School Board in 2010 Betty became an avid quilter who belonged to many quilting organizations in Durham Region. She made many beautiful creations to donate to various community organizations over the years. Betty will be missed dearly by her family and her many quilting friends in Durham and beyond. A special thank you to the staff at Kingston General Hospital for their care and especially to Betty's life long friend Carolyn Belleghem for her kindness and devotion during Betty's last days.

A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held at Kingsview United Church located at 505 Adelaide Ave. E., in Oshawa on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
