Obituary of Michael Leo Murray
Murray; Michael Leo – Passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 46. Beloved son of Nadene Strange (Laurie Karjala) and David Murray. Cherished grandson of Lois Prue (Kenneth, deceased). Beloved partner of Alanna Michalisko (and her family). Mike will be sorely missed by his brother Robert Murray. He will be forever in the hearts of his Auntie Kayla Lacroix and his cousin and best friend Scott Lacroix. Mike was predeceased by his grandparents Norman and Marceil Murray. He will be fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, friends and coworkers.
Mike was a supernova. His light burned so bright that you were lucky to be caught in its warmth. He was a quiet rebel. His vision was not limited by the things that the rest of us would let stand in our way. From his earliest moments he excelled, he shone, he innovated, he evolved. He had a path that was his own, not for us to understand, and not for us to approve.
He was a competitor to his core. Mike excelled at everything, from his beginning, until his end. He excelled academically, founded companies, he played hockey at an elite level, and he completed numerous ironman triathlons. Mike travelled the world experiencing life. He did not shy away from any challenges, he knew no bounds, courage and determination were his.
He was funny, he was thoughtful, he was sensitive. He loved the people that he loved, and he treated everyone else like they were already a part of his life. He has left a giant hole in the lives of the people he left behind. He was a prominent businessman and entrepreneur who accepted every challenge that came his way.
The family will be accepting visitors on Friday, April 22, 2022 at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd from 12:00 pm – 1:50 pm. Service will take place in the Chapel at 2:00 pm. For those that are unable to attend in person, you may join by livestream by CLICKING HERE.
