Obituary of Charles Herbert Bullock

BULLOCK, Charles Herbert

Charles Herbert Bullock passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at age 99. He is predeceased by his brother Ernest Bullock, sisters Kathleen and Anne. Charles leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Grace (nee McCready), his children, Wendy McLaughlan, Suzanne Bullock, Andrew Bullock and Andrew’s son Dylan; his sister Jean Frost and many loving nieces and nephews.

Charles Bullock, Herbert to his family, was born June 3rd, 1922 to Ernest and Anna Maria (née Mairs) on Staten Island, New York. He served in WWII as an Xray technician in a hospital in England. After the war Charles attended University of California at Berkley earning a degree in chemistry. In 1953 he visited Lansdowne, Ontario and met and fell in love with Grace McCready. They were married on June 5, 1954 and began their life together in Plainfield, New Jersey. Later they moved to Kingston, Ontario where Charles worked at Queen's University until his retirement in 1987. His greatest joy was his 3 children and grandson.

Steadfast, gentle, perceptive, brilliant but humble, thoughtful and compassionate, an avid golfer and philosopher; he challenged and supported us. Our sorrow is profound; our thankfulness that he will always be a part of us is even deeper.
