Obituary of Khuan Seng Lam

 

LAM, Dr. Khuan Seng

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Khuan Seng (Seng) Lam on Saturday March 12, 2022, at the age of 91. Devoted husband, father and grandfather, survived by his wife Julie of 61 years, his two children, Shireen (Howard) and Joanne (Tom) and 7 grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Jasmine, Jason, Arielle, Taryn and Michelle. 

 

 

Seng was fondly remembered for his fun-loving spirit and dedication to family.  He was a true sports enthusiast and loved kayaking, swimming, cross country skiing, horseback riding, polo and cycling.  He appreciated nature to the fullest and was passionate about fishing, cottage life, photography and birdwatching.   He was an active volunteer and gave much of his time to the church, Canadian Ski Patrol, Kingston Triathlon and also chaired a committee to help the Vietnamese refugees in the late 1970s.

 

Born on January 11, 1931 in Ipoh, Malaysia. Bachelor of Dental Surgery, University of Singapore. Masters degree in Dental Surgery, University of Melbourne, Australia.  Dentist in Kingston for 34 years, well-known for his gentleness.

 

Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Edith Rankin Memorial United Church, 4080 Bath Road, on Saturday March 19, 2022.  Dr. Lam's family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 am followed by the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m.  In accordance with Covid 19 protocols required by Edith Rankin Church, guest attendance at the visitation and service is restricted to only those who can provide proof of double vaccination.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to either Edith Rankin Memorial United Church or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.
