Obituary of Daniel Raymond Truesdell

TRUESDELL, Daniel Raymond

June 16th 1949 – March 5th 2022

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband and father, Dan Truesdell. Cherished husband and best friend of 40 years to Nancy Truesdell (nee Wright). Proud, loving father to Colin (Amber), Amy and Laura (Adam). Grandfather to Abbi, Lily and Lucas. Survived by his siblings, Judi (Brian), Harv (Wanda), Maureen (Ron) and Margie (Brian). Lovingly remembered by his mother-in law Peggy Wright and in-laws Sally and Jim Richards, Ted and Gerry Wright, and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents Donald Truesdell and Esther Truesdell (nee Lappan), and his father-in-law Tom Wright.

Dan was a remarkably kind gentle man, who cherished his family more than anything in the world. He lived an immensely rewarding and full life and treasured his 35 years on Howe Island.  During a career at Bell Canada of 35 years, he took great pride in his work and enjoyed the comradery of the people he worked with. We know that Dan touched many people’s lives with his generosity, kindness, and his innate ability to always be there when needed, making him a valued neighbour and a loyal friend. A soft-spoken man, with a mischievous sense of humour, he delighted in teasing those he cherished most. True to his character Dan faced his health challenges over the past three years with dignity, immeasurable strength and concern for his family over himself.

The family wishes to thank the care, kindness and support provided by the Renal Unit at KGH, Brown Tree Caring Company, Dr. Birenbaum and the staff at Arbour Heights.

As per Dan’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A memorial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.  The family would appreciate any memories of Dan you would like to share by visiting Dan’s webpage at jamesreidfuneralhome.com.

“Grief is the price we pay for love, and worth it a million times over. We will carry your strength and love in our hearts forever.”
