Obituary of Joe Aitken

Aitken; Joseph Howard “Joe” – Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Kingston Health Sciences Centre at the age of 60. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Karen (nee Wood), children Steven (Stephanie King), Jeffrey and Kristin (Bruce Cadieux), grandchild Eric Joseph, his parents Clifford and Shirley (nee Hazlett) and his sister Rhonda “Tiller”, as well as extended family and many friends.

Joe dedicated his life to his family. He was a loving husband since 1983 and made sure Karen knew exactly how much he cherished her. He spent as much time as he could with his children and new grandson and he could not love or be more proud if he tried. At work, Joe was the “go-to” guy. He was dependable and hard working, rarely slowed down and did more than his fair share. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues and those that he worked closely with. Joe was a sports enthusiast through and through. He loved golfing with family and friends, cheering on his life-long favourite sports teams and especially his time at the Kingston Frontenac games with his best buds.

Cremation has been entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service to honour Joe at Glenhaven Memorial Garden. Memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association and/or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
