Obituary of Gordie Beach

Gordena “Gordie” Beach (nee Clark)

July 2, 1923 – February 18, 2022

Gordie Beach died peacefully at her home in Kingston, Ontario on February 18, 2022 at the age of 98. She was surrounded by those who love her dearly and are so incredibly proud of her; her daughter Gloria, son-in-law Scott Duckworth and grandchildren Libby (Don McKever) and Mike (Mckaylla Morey).

Born and raised in Summerside, PEI, Gordie was the daughter of the late Horace and Margaret (Callbeck) Clark. She was predeceased by her cherished sisters Gloria Perry, Merle Riguse and Gerda McLeod. She met her beloved husband, Gordon Errol (Erl) Beach, in Toronto and it was there that they settled and raised their family. Gordie was predeceased by Erl, who died suddenly in 1991. She is survived by her sons Bob and Rick (Donna) and grandson Andrew as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gordie was a loving and supportive Mom, Nana and friend. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. If you would like to offer support to the family, please visit our memorial website with the James Reid Funeral Home, Kingston.

As the strong, independent woman she has always been, Gordie made a very brave decision to exercise her right to die with dignity. Thank you to the team at MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying) for providing this service. You gave Gordie and her family great peace of mind throughout the process. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Gordie, please consider Dying with Dignity Canada.

At a future date, a private graveside service will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery, Richmond Hill.
