Obituary of Douglas David Smith

Smith; Douglas David - With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather at home on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Dianna Smith (Busch). Much loved father of David Smith (Janis), Carrie Fisher (Jim) and his good cat pal Whitey.  Loving grandfather of Grace, Megan and Erin Smith. Also survived by his siblings Marge Grant-Hart, Jack, Lorne, Gary (Susan) and Fred. Doug will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Jean Smith, brother Bill and sisters Marion, Valeria (Val) and Elizabeth.  Doug will be remembered by many friends and extended family. He was a long time employee of Celanese Canada and will be remembered for his long time involvement with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 496, his die hard faith in the Toronto Maple Leafs, his kind nature and unfailing willingness to step in and assist anyone requiring help.

The family would like to invite guests for visitation on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm. Chapel service will follow at 2:00 pm. Proof of vaccination with the Enhanced QR code must be shown at the door to enter and masks are mandatory.
