Obituary of John Donald Karagianis
John Donald Karagianis
1934-2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (“Jack”) Donald Karagianis on Wednesday, 16 February 2022. Born in New Westminster, BC on 12 September 1934, Jack is survived by daughters Arlene Altman (Rob) and Dana Karagianis, son John Karagianis (Jackie), grandchildren Jacqueline (Patt), Megan, Brett (Bonnie), Sarah, Michael and Christopher, great grandchildren Juliette, Louise and Brooklyn, and immediate and extended family and friends across Canada and the UK. Jack spent 26 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force and met his wife Rita while serving in Nottingham, England. Jack enjoyed a rich life, with multiple postings across Western Europe (England, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy), and around Canada. In 1978, he settled down in Victoria, BC, where he worked with the City of Victoria. Following his retirement, Jack and Rita relocated to Kingston, Ontario in 2006 to live closer to their children. Unfortunately, he was predeceased by his wife Rita last summer. Jack died quickly and peacefully, the result of an unanticipated aneurism. He has been cremated and a family gathering will be organized in the early Spring. Jack lived life with an adventurous spirit; he will be sadly missed. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to a pet charity of your choice, and any online condolences may be forwarded to James Reid Funeral Home in Kingston, Ontario.
