Obituary of Marilyn Eleanor Birtch

BIRTCH, Marilyn

On February 14, 2022, our bright shining star and beautiful soul, Marilyn (nee Olsen) in her 82nd  year passed unexpectedly to gain her Angel Wings. She will be fondly missed by the love her life and true companion for over 60 years, Marvin.  Loving mother of Jim (Sherry), Larry (Laurie), Liisa (Rex).  Her most cherished grandchildren, she loved with her whole heart, Lawrence, Alysha (Jesse) and Mckendry (Katie).  Survived by her sister, Joyce Revelle (late Vernon) of Kingston, with whom she played many games of Rummoli and shared many laughs and memories over the years. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brothers, Ron, Jim, Ken and Gord Olsen and sisters Blanche Kennedy (late Murray) and Emma Murphy (late Ken), and niece Susan Kennedy and nephew John Revelle.

Marilyn loved each of her children and grandchildren with so much love and devotion.  For each, you were the only one in the room to spoil you with her love and special ways. You would never leave the house without getting a huge hug and told how much she loved you and to always drive carefully. Her life was devoted to her family. A 2nd Mom to many, to mention a few, Katie, Shannon, Derrick, Jill, Brad, Rob, Dennis and Gord (a.k.a. Chauchi)

She would fill the room with so much sunshine and laughter.  Often you would hear her humming or doing a little jig.  She loved her family immensely.  She touched so many lives, so much so, you would never forget your time with her.

She would fondly do her Thursday outings, making sure to visit all her favorite stores to say a friendly hello to all those that she would meet along the way.  She would always speak fondly about all the staff at the Gardiners Road Metro, often taking them a little treat.

Many fond memories spent at the cottage.  Her time there was always filled with family & friend times and enjoying the sunsets of Wolfe Island, never forgetting her family roots.

Today, take the time to hold your loved ones a little longer, cherish your friendships and be true to who you are.
