Obituary of Donald George Hanmore

HANMORE, Donald George

October 26, 1938 – January 24, 2022

Passed away peacefully on Parkside 2, Providence Care Hospital. Loving husband of Barbara (56 years). Beloved father of Julia (McGowan) and Thomas (Lori) and grandpa of Juno and David McGowan.

Predeceased by his parents Wally and Edna, brother Wally, and his sisters Annabelle and Dina. Survived by his sister Betty (Morgan), and brothers Tony, Ted, Phil, Paul, Charlie and Eric.

Don grew up in the Kingston area and got his trade during his 5 years service in the RCN. He and his wife later settled in Brighton area where he built 2 houses and enjoyed community life. After becoming employed with Bell Canada he and his family moved to Ottawa for 6 years and then back to Kingston. Don was a dedicated employee and family man. He enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, tennis, walks on the beach down south and helping others.

Cremation has taken place. For those wishing to make donations to a charity of your choice, Alzheimer’s Society, or U.H.K.F. (Providence Care Hospital), thank you. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
