Rose Mary Meers

Obituary of Rose Mary Meers

Meers; Rosemary (nee Leeder) born September 29 1951- January 24 2022

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Rose Meers. Survived by her loving husband of 53 years; Les and her beloved mother Audrey (nee Guthrie). Rose was the devoted mother to Tammy (Courtney) and Tom (Penny). Cherished Grammy to Kayla (Phil), Brayden, Matt, Claire and Emily. Much loved sister to Glen (Lori), Kimmie Storring, Rob, Gordie (Cathy), Tory and Shawn (Christine). Predeceased by siblings Archie, Marlene, John and Rod Leeder. Aunt to many loved nieces and nephews.

Rose and Les, both from Portsmouth Village, met when they were 14 and 16 years of age. They were high school sweethearts and were married young. Rose and Les created a beautiful life together, always surrounded by family and friends. Rose’s  pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Her favourite job was as a stay at home Mom.  She returned to the workforce at Queen’s University, Residence. She especially enjoyed her time spent with the students and staff.

Rose was often referred to as an angel on earth, showing kindness and love to everyone she met. She was a bright light for all that knew her. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and believed that a hug could solve almost anything.

A very special thanks to Rose’s nurses Macheala and Kourtney and Dr. Ngo from St. Elizabeth for their compassionate care during Rose’s battle.

RIP Mom and Grammy
