Obituary of Beverlee Jean Wells

Beverlee Jean Wells (Bev), age 59, passed away suddenly on Monday January 17, 2022 in her hometown of Kingston, Ontario. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Amanda Newell and the entire Newell family, her sister Linda Sunderland (Ken), her brother John Wells (Claire), her many nieces and nephews, and her countless friends. Predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Mary Wells (née MacQueen), her father, John Thomas Wells, and her sister, Debi Wells.

Bev was a graduate of Brockville Collegiate Institute, Queen’s University, and George Brown Culinary School. She was a wonderful musician, playing french horn and trombone for the Brockville Concert Band and singing alto at St. John's United Church in Brockville, and later St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kingston. In her youth, she was an avid sailor at the Brockville Yacht Club. She enjoyed careers in both chemistry and cuisine, and was working as a colour chemist for the past fifteen years. Bev was an involved community member in her neighbourhood, and was acting as a Board Member at Kingston Community Housing at the time of her passing. Bev was a dedicated individual who would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and always prioritised the needs of others. Most importantly, however, Bev was a loving mother, who devoted herself to her daughter Amanda and was never shy to share her pride in her.

A service of thanksgiving for Bev will take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 130 Clergy St. E in Kingston, on Saturday January 29 at 2pm. Seating will be available in the sanctuary by registration only, and will involve presentation of vaccine passports, physical distancing and masking (register here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/a-service-of-thanksgiving-beverlee-wells-tickets-250698765757 ). The service will also be live-streamed here: https://youtu.be/Yraz-1PAXvo
