Obituary of Audrey Enid Joan McNair

We are sad to announce that Audrey passed away on Dec. 20 at Fairmount Home in Glenburnie. Audrey was born at home on her family’s farm near Mountain Grove, Ontario and spent her early life there. As a young woman she met the love of her life Ernest (Ernie) McNair, and they married on Oct. 16, 1954.

After the birth of their four daughters, Audrey worked for many years at Ongwanada Hospital in Kingston as an Educational Assistant for students with special needs. After retirement Ernie and Audrey spent many years as volunteers at St Andrews by the Lake United Church working with adults with special needs. Audrey also volunteered in the library at Centennial Public School.

Sadly, Audrey was recently predeceased by her husband Ernie on October 18, 2021, and by her daughter Barbara on November 2, 2021.

Audrey was a devoted mother to Pam Davison (Mike), the late Barbara McNair (Rob Carson), Brenda McNair (Bill Burr) and Linda McNair. Loving grandmother to Lisa Livermore (Jordan) and Lindsay Pace (Jon) and great grandsons Branden and James Livermore. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Willard and Evelina Cronk and by her sister and brother-in-law Frona and Cecil Peters. She will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Rita Kennedy and Sallie Fish (Keith) and by many nieces, nephews and their families.

In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Inverary United Church, Fairmount Long Term Care Home, the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
