Obituary of Louise Pauline Axford

AXFORD, Louise Pauline (née Campbell)

December 11, 1929 - November 21, 2021

Married to the late Ronald Axford for over 63 years, she was deeply loved by every member of our family, as she often found ways to be the steady and calm influence everyone occasionally needed.  She was Mother to the late Dr. Paul Axford and his younger sister Valerie (Dr. Michael Leonard) of Ashton, Ontario. Her Grandchildren include siblings Craig Axford (Jessica) of Orlando, Florida; Brian Delorme-Axford (Beth) of Rochester Hills, Michigan; Shannon (Jamie Paluch) of Parry Sound, Ontario; and the late Julia Axford. Three Great grandchildren now!  Nathan, younger sister Ada and very recent new arrival, Eliana.

Her life was made full by accepting opportunities to teach, praise and live the joy she felt as a person sure of her present and future in God’s Care.

She served her community-focused downtown church in many capacities over the decades that she lived in Kingston: choir, Women’s Missionary Society, Elder, Mission Committee and she enthusiastically served as a team member providing Special Meals for the homeless.  She volunteered at long term care homes alongside Ron for over two decades, providing musical leadership, encouragement and spiritual inspiration.

Louise was an awarded Kindergarten Teacher who enjoyed providing learning opportunities to students both in and out of the classroom.  Her students, with their parents, took part in seasonally planned excursions where they had occasion to experience the excitement of discovering nature and technology.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Kingston Ontario (Registration Number 119164507 RR001, 130 Clergy St E, Kingston ON K7K 3S3). Louise’s family will gather privately for a service of Christian Burial. As per the family’s wishes, there will be no public memorial service.
