Gerald Fairbanks, beloved husband of Joan Fairbanks (the former Joan White, nee Patterson) of Kingston.  Loving father of Karen Bruyea and Deborah Lewchuk and grandfather to his granddaughters.  Also, step-father to Joan's son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Tracey White and step-grandfather to Ryan and David White (Jenna).  Gerald will be fondly remembered by many friends and colleagues. 

Gerald joined the fire department in June 1954 and retired in June 1990.  He was a past member of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs and served on the Board of Directors.  He was a past member of the Masonic Order Minden Lodge and Past-President of the Kingston Lions Club. 

Cremation has taken place.  Gerald's family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Thursday, October 21 between the hours of 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.  The funeral service will follow in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with Deacon John Morrison officiating.  Private Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery.  For those wishing to attend the funeral ceremony please call the funeral home (613-544-3411) between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm daily to preregister your attendance. Current Covid protocols require that masks be worn and that contact tracing will be performed and physical distancing adhered to.
