Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Stafford

SUSAN ELIZABETH STAFFORD

(nee Thomson) 

1939 - 2021

After a courageous battle, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2021 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of 59 years to J. Terrence Stafford. Loving mother of Brian (Karen), Kate, Jamie , and the late Amy Stafford. Cherished grandmother (Gibby) to Nicholas and Clare (Brian and Karen), Michael, Anna and Ben (Kate), and Quinn and Dylan (Jamie). Daughter of the late Mildred Mahood Thomson and late G. Graham Thomson. Sister to George M. Thomson (Judith Beaman) and Jane Wright. Sister-in-law to Susie  and Henry Cotton.  Aunt, Great-Aunt, Cousin and Second Cousin to a truly amazing family whom she loved and cherished.

A life spent devoted to her husband, family, nursing profession, and community. 

Susan was happiest when together with family and her many, many wonderful and supportive friends. A gathering will take place when the time is right, silverware is polished, and everyone is able to identify what spoon is used for soup.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd. on Friday, October 1st 2021.at 11:30 am. Monsignor Joseph Lynch will be officiating. As seating for the funeral is limited due to Covid restrictions, please call the funeral home at 613-544-3411 to RSVP between 9:00 - 4:00 pm.
