Obituary of Maureen Patricia Burton

BURTON, Maureen Patricia (nee Breidon)

Maureen “Little Moe” passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness on Saturday, September 18th, 2021. Maureen was born on November 4, 1932 in Montreal, Quebec daughter of Edward and Alice (Blair) Breidon. She grew up in Montreal and Dorval, Quebec and was a proud employee of Bell Canada. She met the love of her life Walter Frederick Burton and they were married on September 14, 1974, in Dorval. After retirement they moved to Kingston, Ontario in 1989.  Maureen was predeceased by her husband Walter Frederick Burton, step-son David George Burton, and brother-in-law Robert Watts. Survived by her loving sister Margaret Rose Watts, nephew Steven Watts (Bonnie), niece Patricia Ann Duchesne (Paul), step-son Walter Lawrence Burton, step-daughter-in-law Josie Burton, step-grandchildren Andrea Blazejewicz (Robert) and Michael Burton, step-great grandchildren Alessia and David Blazejewicz.

Thanks to Dr Chadha and the nursing staff and PSWs at the Windsor Retirement Residence/Bayshore Transitional Care Unit. Special thanks to the ICU Health Care Team at the Kingston General Hospital.

Friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Friday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Funeral service will be held in St. Peter’s Anglican Church (4333 Bath Road) Kingston on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 1:30 pm. Interment to follow at the Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston.

RSVP is not required for the visitation however you must RSVP to attend the Service due to COVID restrictions. Please call James Reid Funeral Home at 613-544-3411 between 9:00 - 4:00 pm to reserve a seat.
