Obituary of James Francis Dillon

 

 

DILLON, James Francis (Frank)

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Dillon announce his passing on September 13, 2021.

Left to mourn his loss are his beloved wife, Helen, his children, Patricia Preston {Michael}, Jude, Jane Dillon-Leitch {Henry}, Hugh {Midori}, his grandchildren, Sheila Dillon-Leitch {John Brennan}, Matthew Dillon-Leitch {Caitln Gropp}, his great grandson, James Brennan, his sister-in-law Doris Stuart {late Robert} and his many nieces and nephews.

 

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary {Finn} Dillon, his brothers and their wives, Gerard {Elizabeth}, John {Florence}, Hugh {Catherine}, his sisters and their husbands, Kathleen Enright {Percy}, Rita Craigen {Joe} and Geraldine Hoey { Bernard}.

 

Frank enjoyed his long career at ALCAN, fishing with his father on Fifth Lake, playing golf and bridge at Cataraqui Golf and Country Club, where he was a member for fifty years, entertaining his extended family at his Florida home, travelling in Europe with his children and grandchildren, following the stock market, the Blue Jays and discussing politics with Helen. 

 

Mr. Dillon is resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, Ontario. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, September 19th between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Covid protocols require that guests wear masks, adhere to physical distancing and allow for contact tracing.

 

The family will gather privately for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 392 Palace Rd., Kingston, Ontario on Monday, September 20, 2021, with Monsignor Joseph Lynch celebrating. The Rite of Committal with Prayers will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

 

In accordance with Frank's wishes, a celebration of his well-lived, wonderful 97 years will be hosted by his family at Cataraqui Golf and Country Club at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Lung Association Of Kingston and Area in the care of,  unitedwaykfla.ca
