Shillington, Stanley Gordon

1939-2021

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Gordon Shillington on Thursday August 19th, 2021 at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KGH).

He was the son of Kenneth and Marion (nee Craine) of Saint John. Stan was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

 

Stan served as a proud member of the Toronto Police Force for 32 years.

 

Besides his loving wife and best friend Diane (nee Lewis) of 33 years, Stan is survived by his children Kenneth (Judy Murphy) Shillington, Bradley Robert Shillington, Rozamonde (Bill) Ford and Elizabeth (James) White. Remembered by his grandchildren Stacey (Reshad), James, Dannielle, Colby, Chet, Catrina, Hayden and Dawson. Stan had four great grandchildren Adelayde, Ayden, Greyson and Austin.

 

Arrangements are under the care of James Reid Funeral Home. There will be a visitation from 10-11am on Thursday August 26th in the Chapel with a service held at 11:30. Due to limited space with Covid restrictions, guests must call the James Reid Funeral Home 613-544-3411 (by Tuesday August 24th, 2021 1pm) to RSVP for the service. The service will also be livestreamed for anyone who cannot attend.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the UHKF (Cancer Centre) would be kindly appreciated in Stan’s memory.

 

We would like to thank all of the staff at the Cancer Centre especially Dr. Jeannie Callum who had been Stan’s physician for twenty-five years.
