Ib Lauritsen

1938 – 2021

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, at the Providence Care Hospital on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the age of 83.  Ib, loving husband of Linda (nee Gabriel), cherished father of Jørn (Helena) of Denmark and Christine of Kingston and proud grandfather of Anton and August.  Dear brother of Jetta, Berit and the late Jorgen and brother-in-law of Reg (Helen), Harold (Patty), Billy, David (Sandra) and Gordon (Bev).  He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews in Canada and Denmark.

Ib had many passions within his life-time but will be mostly remembered for the love of his family and the outdoors.

A special thank you is extended to Don Ward for his friendship and compassion and to the Providence Care Hospital Palliative Care Team who made his last days ones of comfort and provided him and his family with the best care one can imagine. 

In keeping with Ib’s wishes cremation has taken place.  For those who wish donations in his memory may be made to U.H.K.F. (Providence Care Hospital, Palliative Care Unit).
