Obituary of Yuomi-Anna Dugas
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Yuomi-Anna Dugas (née Godfreyson) on July 27th, 2021 at the age of 37. Yuomi's loving husband, Mark; her children, Brayden (10), Jailyn (4), and Aubrie (1);
as well as her sister Andrea, were by her side until the end.
Yuomi was born in South Korea and raised in Tsawwassen and Revelstoke, graduating from Revelstoke Secondary School in 2002. She later moved to Castlegar where she earned her journeyperson electrician ticket. Yuomi was an electrician by trade, but her true calling was as a mother. When Yuomi became the proud mother of Brayden, her and Brayden were inseparable and fished together in every body of water they could find. After Castlegar, Yuomi and Brayden moved to Vancouver Island, first Campbell River and then Comox. It was on the ball field in Comox that Yuomi met and fell in love with Mark. They married in Mexico March 2016.
As a military family, Yuomi, Mark, and Brayden moved to Naples, Italy, where Yuomi and Mark's daughter, Jailyn, was born. After three years in Italy, enjoying numerous trips together exploring Europe, the family moved back to Canada, to Kingston, Ontario, where Aubrie was born. Their family was complete. Yuomi loved Kingston but always said that home was anywhere the five of them were together.
Yuomi was an incredible mother, beloved wife, caring sister, daughter, niece and aunt who was fiercely devoted to her family. She was quick-witted, loving and strong. Her favourite activities—baseball, fishing, camping and swimming—were all outdoors. Yuomi's family and friends will always remember Yuomi for the extraordinary person she was and the love, kindness and humour that she shared with everyone around her.
