Obituary of Belva Ethel Marie Kay

KAY, Belva E.M. (nee Bedor)

 August 8,  1931 – July 16, 2021

KGH Grad  -  Class of ‘53

Survived by a loving family of husband Bill for 66 years, son Eric (Gloria) Toronto, daughters Kim Kay and Lisa Kay (David Nott) Kingston, grandson Andrew Kay (Ru) Toronto.  Sisters Olive Chant (Mac deceased) Kingston and Melissa McLean (Ross deceased) Oshawa.  Pre-deceased by brothers Joe and Vernon.

Retiring after a 35 year career in nursing, Belva took up tennis, golf and cross-country skiing.  She learned to play bridge with Catherine, Liz and Ruth and enjoyed Tuesday morning coffee break with Jackie, Carol and Elaine.  She also had time to putter in the garden.

Special people in her life besides immediate family included Patricia Kay of Toronto, John Greenwood of Harrowsmith, David Barker of Kingston and wonderful neighbours Sharon and Hugh Coyle nursing classmates Bernie, Eunice and Helen who kept in touch over the years.  Belva and Bill enjoyed several trips abroad during their retirement.

Belva’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the team, of professionals at Paramed and the Kidney Disease Clinic for their care and support over the past four years.  Thank you to Drs. Kondor and Hagarty for your attention over the last couple of weeks. 

Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be preferred by the family.
