Obituary of Mihaly (Mike) Emil Laslo Dora

DORA, MIHALY (MIKE)

May 4, 1936 - June 26, 2021

Mihaly passed away peacefully at KHSC June 26, 2021. Mihaly is survived by his daughter Etta Louise, son Michael Stephen (Nancy), granchildren Angela, Robyn, Lauren and Michael and great grandchild Jayden. Predeceased by mother Luiza and Mihaly, brothers Pali and Laszlo and great grand daughter Jasmin.

Born in Budapest, Mihaly survived the Siege of Budapest during WW2 in late 1944. At the age of 17 he received his trade certificate as a tool & die maker. In November 1956, after fighting the Soviets in their takeover of Hungary, Mihaly fled his homeland in an attempt to survive and make a better life for himself.

From Europe he then went to Hamilton and in 1973 moved his family to Godfrey, Ontario to start a new career in Kingston at Northern Telecom. Mihaly, retired since the mid '90's developed numerous health issues in recent years and was sadly taken away on June 26th.
