Frank Russell Carnegie

W.O. ret’d RCASC/Supply Tech

Dec. 16, 1937 – Jun. 23, 2021

We are broken-hearted to announce that Frank has died due to cancer.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (nee McCoubrey); his cherished children Kevin Carnegie, Darrell (Danielle) Carnegie, and Kelly (Carnegie) Horbay; by his beloved grandchildren, Scott, Chantelle, Robbie, Collin & Jacey Carnegie, and Ryan & Ethan Horbay.  Frank was so proud of his family and marvelled at their accomplishments.

Frank grew up in Newbury, Ontario and joined the Canadian Armed Forces at 17.  He served 35 years, stationed in Germany for 5 years and at Bases throughout Ontario, with his final 24 years at C.F.B. Petawawa and tours for U.N. duty in Cyprus and Egypt and many NATO deployments.

Frank is predeceased by 4 brothers and a sister.  He is survived by his younger sister, Shirley (Ken) Blythe, Bothwell, Ontario, many nieces and nephews, and the McCoubrey Clan who will miss him.

Frank always served his family and community.  In retirement he became an accomplished bowler at Garrison Lanes, and a valued member of the Christ Church Cataraqui Family.  He thrived on missions for others.  He was a Master Recycler – all waste to the right place by truck.

Cremation has occurred.  A private family burial service will be held in Christ Church Cemetery on July 3rd with Father Blair Peever officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Frank’s memory to the Partners In Mission Food Bank.
