Obituary of Joyce Gwendoline Slaven

SLAVEN, Joyce (Singleton)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Joyce (Singleton) Slaven, in her 96^th year. Originally from England, Mom spent many happy years in Prince Edward County with her first husband Bill Singleton (predeceased), raising their children Jane (Rick) Baxter, Jeff (Nancy) Singleton, John (Margie) Singleton and Jennifer (Stephen) Vardy. In later years, Mom re-married and was pre-deceased by her second husband, Joseph Slaven. Mom was loved and will be missed by her 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. We send her on her final journey surrounded by our gratitude and love.

Thanks to the very kind staff at The Royale Place Retirement Home in Kingston where she had spent the last 11 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the CNIB or charity of your choice would be appreciated. In keeping with Mom’s wishes, a cremation has already taken place. A private, family graveside service will be held at a later date.
