February 14, 1936 – June 5, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Johnston in her 86^th year.  She is predeceased by her loving husband Cliff Johnston of 61 years.  She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Judy Bélanger (Luc) and Susan Barkley (Chris) and her extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Janet loved spending time in the kitchen.  She often would bake cookies and deserts to share with friends and family.  She enjoyed making preserves, jams and relish.  She was a proud member of the Anglican Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.  She studied piano when she was young and her love of music was a life long passion. 

Cremation will take place at James Reid Crematorium and will be followed by a private family graveside service at Christ Church Cemetery, Cataraqui with Rev. Canon Blair Peever officiating.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Tomiak, Dr. Hagarty, the nurses of Saint Elizabeth and the nurses at Providence Care Hospital Palliative Unit for their excellent care.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Janet to the Kingston Humane Society.
