Obituary of Bette Milne

MILNE, Elizabeth “Bette” Doreen (nee Reid)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother on May 27th in her 97th year, peacefully at home. Loving mother of Harvey III (Janice), Karen Spilchen (Martin) and Scott.  Cherished Nana to her grandchildren Harvey IV (Princess), Jason (Louise), Cassandra Gaudreau (Matthew), Jason and Amanda Spilchen, Kimberley Nash-Milne, and her 5 great grandchildren.  Beloved wife of the late Harvey James (II) of 58 years.  Predeceased by her parents Bruce and Gretchen, sister Thelma Wood, and brothers Harold, Wilbert, Donald and Gordon. Survived by her brother Wilson Reid (Eileen) and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Bette was a natural athlete, and member of the Cataraqui Golf and Curling Club for 65 years.  During this time she was a competitive curler and golfer, and she enjoyed golfing with her friends and family well into her 95th year.  She will be fondly remembered as a special lady who gave much joy, whit, and affection to anyone she met.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will occur at a later date. Memorial donations to the Kingston Humane Society, 1 Binnington Court, Kingston, ON K7M 8M9 would be appreciated by the family.
