NOBLE, Mura Joan
Mura Joan Noble, passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on May 22, 2021 in her 95th year. Joan was born on June 15, 1926 to Harold Rupert Pattison and Annie May McFaul in Toronto, where she attended school and developed her calling to education. She became a teacher, serving in Toronto, Kingston and York School Boards.
Joan completed her Bachelor of Arts at Queen’s University two weeks before her 70th birthday.
Joan was married to John Kenneth Noble for 71 years. Joan and Ken shared a passion for education and faith, and worked together in ministry in many congregations as well as advocacy for women’s shelters and leadership in church governance.
Together they had three children: John Harold, Ruth Elizabeth, and Tom Andrew (deceased 2010). Joan and Ken also have three grandchildren: Tara (Chris), Krystal and Tom, and one great grandchild: Lauren.
Joan believed in the calling to serve, in her many volunteer roles in churches and food banks and creating a reading circle for children in her community. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, congregation members. She was a smart, witty, caring person who loved to laugh.
